Pomp & Circumstance and Dynamic Duo

This card was inspired by THIS pin.

The colors were inspired by the final challenge on Dynamic Duos.  I cannot believe that this is their last challenge and that they are closing up shop.  I am just shocked by it.... So I created 3 different cards with their last color challenge.

Their final color challenge is So Saffron, Pool Party, and Smoky Slate.
I used different embossing folders for each one, and I am really happy with the way they turned out.

New Embossing Folder and Beyond Measure

It's been awhile since I've posted something on here, but you can trust me... I've been working, just not necessarily posting.

This is the card I created.  I pinned THIS card because I really loved the sketch.  And this is what I created!  I love the use of the measuring tape embossing folder with the measuring tape stamp.  If you know the stamp, it has the words, "love beyond measure," which is fine to give to some people, but not everyone.  This way, I get to use the stamp a lot more.  Very dude appropriate.

I also had The Friday Mashup in mind with this card.  It doesn't fold up in a weird way, but it does have the dots!

So happy with it...

Card Inspiration- Man Card

I created this card based on the THIS Pin.  However, I changed it to fit the color challenge on Colour Throwdown.  Their color challenge is to use Basic Gray, Certainly Celery, and Tangerine Tango.

I am working to create so many man cards because I want to put together a man card class.  This will definitely be showcased in the class.

I do like the three colors of the strips of the original, but I was limited in my color choice.

Here's the original....
Good for a masculine card. Like the simplicity.

Card Inspiration- Hardwood

Here's another card that I made today based on the Pin I saw HERE.

I changed up the colors somewhat.  My base is Not Quite Navy.  Then I have a layer of Crumb Cake stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink.  Next I punched a circle of newsprint and sponged the edges in chocolate.  I have a navy circle cut and embossed, and I used my petite pennant punch for the first time and cut out the little pennant using DSP.  I popped that and the birthday sentiment up.  The sentiment is stamped in navy ink on Very Vanilla.  The layer under that is also chocolate.  There is baker's twine wrapped three times around the hardwood layer.

I love this sketch!  I'm going to try to see what other colors I can use to create this card again!

Here's the original...

Excellent Man card! CASED this.

Card Inspiration- Sail Away

This card was inspired by THIS pin.  I don't have that cool truck, but I do have this sail boat, and I think it does the trick quite nicely!

I used Pacific Point as a base.   On top of that I added a layer of Chocolate Chip.  Next I added a layer of newsprint.

I sponged the edges of the newsprint and the edges of the sentiment banner.  I decided to use the late birthday wishes (because the irony is that I am almost always late with my cards).

Along the bottom, I added a thin strip of chocolate with a small knot of twine.
I made two of these and put a sympathy sentiment on the second card.

I did make quite a few changes from the original by adding in extra layers and, of course, changing from a truck to a boat, and adding the twine.

Thanks for the inspiration, Pinterest!

Card Inspiration- Happy Dirtday with Truck

I created these cards yesterday...  six of them!

I had this great patterned paper with cars and trucks and buses.  It was screaming to be used to make some great boy cards.

I made two in green, two in orange, and two in blue.  Each truck is hand colored in a water color style picture.  Each has  sentiment, "happy dirtday."
I started with the basic sketch I found on THIS pin.  I really didn't change much, but I did not choose to put the ribbon on the card.  It didn't really say "boy" to me.  I also changed to vehicle to one that looked more the like vehicles on the paper I used.

Don't worry... I'll have more soon using the big trucks.

Card Inspiration- Card 3 Perfect Pennants

This is the third set of cards I am creating using the same sketch, inspired by THIS pin.

Oh!  I also forgot to mention that each of these sets are on one of the larger card bases.  The layer that is under the DSP is 4" x 6".  These large cards were another purchase from my local craft store.  They've been taking up space in my studio for years.  I am THRILLED that I am able to put them to good use.
This little guy is a simple "hello."  Triple popped on 3 pennants.

I also thought it makes a very simple, sort of masculine birthday card.
This one will be perfect for my card ministry.  I just love that sentiment.
Here's my last card.  It will make a nice love note for my sweetie.  I like the double banner.
